January FFA Members of the Month

 

In the month of January the Versailles FFA recognized four dedicated members at the January meeting. They were Kayla Bohman, Haley Mangen, Sean Besecker and David Barlage.
 
Our first member we recognized was Mikayla "Kayla" Bohman. Kayla is the daughter of Janelle Whittaker and Mike Bohman. Activities Kayla has been involved in are General Livestock, Parliamentary Procedures, Food Science, and Soil Judging. She has also helped with the Greenhand Conference, Middle School Ag, the Beef and Pork Tent, Farm Day, Blanket the World, Omelet Breakfast and has went to the Darke County Leadership night. Her SAE consist of raises sheep, goats. Congratulations to Kayla and she received a FFA t-shirt and certificate for being named member of the month.
 
Our second member we recognized was Haley Mangen. Haley is the daughter of Paul and Angie Mangen. She has participated in Parliamentary Procedures and Public Speaking. She has also assisted with Jr. High FFA, the Ag is Cool Tent, Pork Loin Dinner, Omelet Breakfast and Nursing Home Visits. Her SAE consists of  working at Mangen Farms. Congratulations to Haley and she received a FFA t-shirt and certificate for being named member of the month.
 
Our third member recognized was Sean Besecker. Sean is the son of Katie and Jack Besecker. Some activities Sean has been involved in is Poultry Judging, Fall Harvest Sale, Greenhand Conference, Ag is Cool Tent,National Convention, and the Darke County Leadership Night. He has also earned his State FFA Degree. His SAE consist of working at Line-View Farms and he also raises chickens that he shows at the fair. Congratulations to Sean and he received a FFA t-shirt and certificate for being named member of the month.
 
Our Final member recoinzed was David Barlage. David is the son of Kris and Tony Barlage. Activities David has been involved in are Tractor Troubleshooting, Outdoor Power, and Poultry Judging, Fruit Sales, Nursing Home Visit, Soup and Sandwich Social, the Ag is Cool Tent, Darke County leadership night, and FFA Camp Muskingum. He has also received his State FFA  Degree. David SAE consists of working at Schmitmeyer Farms and raises goats which he shows at the Fair. Congratulations to David and he received a FFA t-shirt and certificate for being named member of the month.

 

December FFA Members of the Month
 
At the December 18th, FFA Meeting Versailles FFA recognized 4 members as December FFA Members of the Month.  Members named FFA members of the month included:  Victoria “ Tori” Wuebker, Darian Feltz, Sam Gilmore and Kimberly Winner.
 
Kimberly Winner of North Star is the daughter of Brian and Lisa Winner, and is a junior and 4th year member of the Versailles FFA. She was named December FFA Member of the Month. Kimberly has participated in General livestock and Parliamentary Procedure Career Development Events at the district and state level and is a co-chair for the Middle School Ag Committee, in which is responsible for organizing monthly agriculture lessons.  Kimberly has assisted with nursing home visits, the color run, omelet breakfast, attends monthly meetings, participates in fruit sales, and exhibited shop and crop and beef cattle at theDarke County Fair. For her SAE, she has a garden.  Kimberly received a t-shirt and certificate for being named FFA member of the month.  Congratulations Kimberly Winner. 

 

The second member of the month was Victoria "Tori" Wuebker, daughter of Alan and Sarah Wuebker of Versailles. She is a freshman this year and a 2nd year member of the Versailles FFA. She has participated in Parliamentary Procedure, Public Speaking and and General Livestock is a co chair of the Financial committee. She has also assisted with Nursing home visits, Relay for Life, blanket the world, the Ag is cool tent, the Beef and Pork tent, Greenhand Conference, Fall harvest sale, the Color Run, and exhibited dairy steers and shop and crop at the Darke County fair.  Tori’s  SAE consist of job placement on Wuebker Farms. Tori received a t-shirt and certificate for being named FFA member of the month.

Darian Feltz of Versailles, daughter of Bruce and Jenny Feltz, was named the third member of the month. Darian is a freshman this year and a 2nd year member of the Versailles FFA. She has participated in the Parliamentary Procedures and poultry judging contests. She has helped with poultry days, the Ag is cool tent, the beef and pork tent, Fall harvest sale, Greenhand Conference, Nursing home visits, and exhibits rabbits at the Darke County Fair. Darian is one of the highest individual fruit sellers this year in the high school division. For her SAE, she raises meat rabbits that she shows at the Darke County Fair.  Darian received a t-shirt and certificate for being named FFA member of the month.  Congratulations to Darian Feltz.  
 
The fourth member of the month was Sam Gilmore of Versailles, son of Ben and Heidi Gilmore. Sam is a sophomore this year and a 3rd year member of the Versailles FFA. He has participated in Ag and Industrial diagnostic and is a co chair of the Chapter recruitment committee. He has helped with Relay for Life, the Color Run, the omelet breakfast, Greenhand Conference, fruit sales, exhibits shop and crop at the fair, and helps Mrs. Wuebker during his study hall almost daily. For his SAE he has laying hens, works at Indian Stone Holsteins.  Samuel received a t-shirt and certificate for being named FFA member of the month.   Congratulations to the fourth December member of the month, Sam Gilmore
 
Luthman, Billenstein, George and Grillot Named November FFA Member of the Month

At the November FFA Meeting, the Versailles FFA recognized four students for being named members of the month: They included:  Caitlyn Luthman, Luke Billenstein, Elliot George and Xavier Grillot. 

The first member recognized was second year member Caitlyn Luthman. Caitlyn is the daughter of Danielle and Randy Luthman. Some activities Caitlyn has been involved in are Relay for Life, Shop and Crop, Fruit Sales, FFA Color Run, and Greenhand FFA Conference. Her SAE consist of a garden, working at Stillwater Golf Course and Pothast Mowing. Caitlyn also participated in State Rural Soil Judging CDE and District Food Science and Technology CDE.  Caitlyn serves as the Alumni Committee Co-Chair. Congratulations to Caitlyn and she received a FFA t-shirt and certificate for being named member of the month.  

The second member that was recognized was Luke Billenstein. Luke is the son of Jason and Kelly Billenstein and is a second year member. He has competed in State General Livestock and District Parliamentary Procedures Career Development Event.  Activities that Luke has been involved in include Greenhand FFA Conference, Fruit Sales, Fall Harvest, Leadership Night, Shop and Crop, State FFA Convection, and he is also a committee co-chair. For Luke's SAE he raises dairy steer and he also works on Billenstein Farms. Congratulations to Luke and he received a FFA t-shirt and certificate for being named member of the month.

Our third member of the month was Elliot George. Elliot is the son of Holli and Greg George. Some activities he is involved include State General livestock, State Dairy Judging, Horse Judging, Parliamentary Procedure, Fruit Sales, Farm Day, and Relay for Life. His SAE consist of growing pumpkins and he is a second year member.  Elliott has been very involved with enter data as part of the FFA fruit sales process.  Congratulations to Elliot and he received a FFA t-shirt and certificate for being named member of the month.

Our final member of the month of November was Xavier Grillot. Xavier is the son of Rob and Betsy Grillot and a second year member of Versailles FFA. Some activities he is involved in are Fruit Sale, State General Livestock, Color Run, Pork Loin Dinner, and Farm Day. His SAE consists of working at Indian Stone Holsteins, raising a garden and market hogs.  Xavier has been very involved with enter data as part of the FFA fruit sales process. Congratulations to Xavier and he received a FFA t-shirt and certificate for being named member of the month.

 

Versailles FFA Named Topps, Riley and Grogean

 Named October FFA Members of the Month

 

On October 17th the Versailles FFA recognized three FFA members for member of the month.
 
The first student recognized was Amberlyn Riley. Amberlyn is the daughter of Scott Riley and Celinda Riley and a sophomore at Versailles High School and a third year member of Versailles FFA.  Amberlyn assist with a wide variety of FFA activities including:  Farm Day, Nursing home visit, FTAs for Mrs.Wuebker, assisted with Greenhand Conference, Color Run/Health Fair, participated in parliamentary procedure and equine judging career development events.  Amberlyn has assisted with can food drive, toys for tots drive, sells fruit, soup and sandwich social, attends monthly meetings and she is also a member of the Jr. High FFA Committee. Her SAE consist of having a garden and raising rabbits. She shows her rabbits at the Darke County Fair. Amberlyn received a t-shirt and certificate for being named member of the month.
 
The second member of the month was Nathan Grogean, who is a senior and second year member of the Versailles FFA. Nathan is the son of James and Jane Grogean. Some activities Nathan has participated in include:  Fall Harvest Sales, Color Run and Health Fair, Greenhand FFA Conference, FFA Poultry Days, Farm Business Management Career Development Events and Toys for Tots.  Nathan has been a member of the PALS Committee for two years and he assist with selling fruit, attends monthly meetings and assist with the Can Food Drive.   His SAE consists of having a garden and selling honey that he harvest from his beehive.  Nathan has exhibited shop and crop at the fair and now is selling his SAE honey as part of the FFA fruit sales.  Nathan received a t-shirt and certificate for being named member of the month.

 

The final member recognized was Garrett Toops. Garrett is the son of Amy Denlinger and Jason Toops.  Garrett is a fourth year member of Versailles FFA and is a junior.  Some activities Garett has participated include:   assisting with the Color Run/Walk and Health Fair, Greenhand FFA Conference, FFA Poultry Days Activities, FFA Can Food Drive and Toys for Tots Drive.  Garett attends monthly FFA meetings, sells fruit and participates in wildlife and general livestock career development events.  Garett  SAE consists of  raising and showing pigs at the Darke County fair and job placement at Indian Stone Holstein. Garett received a t-shirt and certificate for being named member of the month.

Versailles FFA Names Gehret and Peters Named September

 FFA Members of the Month

 

At the Versailles September FFA meeting, Versailles FFA recognized Ian Gehret and Emma Peters as members of the month. Emma Peters is the daughter of Scott and Cathy Peters and a second year member of Versailles FFA.  Emma has participated in District Food Science and Technology, State Finals in General Livestock Judging, she has been involved with fair booth set up, Farm Day, general livestock camp, FFA community service projects, chapter meetings, FFA fundraisers and serves as assistant officer. Emma SAE consist of raising market hogs and breeding sheep that she shows at the fair.  As being named Member of the Month Emma received a t-shirt and certificate.  Congratulations Emma! 
 
Our second member of the month was Ian Gehret. Ian is the son of Gary and Jill Gehret. Ian has participated in District Job Interview, State General Livestock Judging, assisted with Farm Day, fair booth tear down, poultry days, FFA community service projects, FFA meetings, FFA fundraisers, exhibiting at the fair and serving as an assistant officer.  Ian  SAE consist of raising market hogs and he shows them at the fair, and he also works a Goettemoeller stock farm as a job placement SAE.  As being named Member of the Month Ian received a t-shirt and certificate.  Congratulations Ian!
