Good evening Tiger parents,
This is Superintendent Dave Harmon with a quick note to you that Achievement Test results are now posted in ProgressBook for your review.
In order to do so, go to the ProgressBook login on the district's website, which is under "Parents/Students." Click the "ProgressBook" link. Find the Versailles icon and click it, and log in just as you would if you were checking your student's grades. Once logged in, on the left side of the screen, there is an option for "Assessment Scores." Once you click that, you are able to see all state-mandated achievement assessment results for multiple years.

Good Monday Morning Tigers.
This is Superintendent Dave Harmon with a message that serves two purposes. First, we are in the process of transitioning from our previous "all-call" system to a new one that is built right into the Versailles app and website portal. It isn't a huge amount of money, but this is a savings to the district both in dollars and in efficiency by streamlining processes. So the first part of this message is simply a test of the new "all-call" system.
Secondly, while I am communicating with you, I feel compelled to share with you something that the district did not seek out, but we expect to be impacted by.
It is very likely that in the biennial budget, which will be approved and signed by the Governor in about 10 days or so, all Ohio schools will be forced to adopt a Board of Education Policy completely banning cell phones from school. Our Board, upon my recommendation based upon my belief in Local Control and the Board leadership that you have elected to represent the best interests of our specific school system, previously had adopted a policy that left it up to the administration and individual teachers to allow or not allow cell phones on a case by case, teacher by teacher, and classroom by classroom basis.
I share this information because I wanted you to be aware of it. We will comply with the requirement to adopt such a policy if it is, in fact, included in the budget as expected. I wanted to give you as much of a head's up as possible to talk with your students about this expected change.

Good evening,
This is Superintendent Dave Harmon with an important message regarding student enrollment in their next grade level. We hope you've had a wonderful first week away from school and are already making great summer memories!
This message is for all Versailles parents/guardians. Final Forms has officially rolled over into the 2025-2026 school year. You may begin updating and signing off on all forms starting tomorrow, Friday, June 6, 2025. It is incredibly helpful and important to us in our work over the summer months. It is critically important for bus routing plans. Specifically, transportation forms MUST be updated by July 18th at the latest. Additionally, the Transportation forms must be completed for every single K-12 student, regardless of whether you utilize district-provided transportation.
We suggest that you use a desktop computer rather than a phone or tablet for the sake of readability and compatibility as you update and complete any forms. Anyone who submits a change of address in Final Forms must follow up with new proof of residency at the new address that they entered. The newly updated Student Handbook and the updated Chromebook agreement are in the Final Forms portal. Please read them carefully for any new and updated rules, procedures, and policies. If you have any questions, please contact the Board office at 937-526-4773.
Thank you very much. Have a wonderful evening! Go Tigers!

Good Saturday afternoon Tigers! This is Superintendent Dave Harmon with a message for our students and families for the purpose of planning as we near the close out of the school year.
As we have done in years past, the last day of school for students, Wednesday, May 28, 2025 will be a two hour early release. Students will be dismissed at 1:05 rather than 3:05.
There's still a LOT to do in the last 12 days of school, but we wanted to share this information with you all for planning purposes.
Have a great weekend. It's beautiful outside. Finally, a very well-deserved Happy Mother's Day to all the Mothers, Grandmothers, Stepmothers, etc., of our community. Bless you all. Have a wonderful weekend!

Good evening Tiger Parents, this is Superintendent Dave Harmon with an important message.
This evening I'm calling to share with you an unfortunate and very unsafe TikTok trend that is happening in schools all over the nation. Unfortunately, it isn't only happening elsewhere.
Students have discovered that if they stick things like a pencil lead or paperclips into their Chromebooks, they can cause the computers to start to smoke or even burst into flames. Unfortunately, this isn't only happening somewhere else. We have had this happen here, too. Doing this causes the Chromebook to short out and potentially be completely ruined.
Other school districts have had to evacuate buildings due to fires that were caused by this action. We ask that you specifically talk with your children this evening to let them know this is obviously not acceptable behavior, but also that it will result in significant consequences if they do.
I hate it that I am having to send this specific message, but in full transparency, if students damage their devices in this way, they will be suspended and it is likely that they will be charged with destruction of property. This is a very steep price to pay for such a silly "trend."
We thank you in advance for speaking with your children and ensuring that they don't do this.
Have a safe evening.

Good Evening Tigers, This is Superintendent Dave Harmon with a reminder about the regularly scheduled school calendar. This message is just a reminder that tomorrow, Friday, May 2, 2025, we will start the day on a pre-scheduled 2-hour delay for staff professional development. Buses will arrive 2 hours later than normal. Have a great remainder of your evening. Go Tigers!

Today, Thursday, May 1, 2025, is National Principals Day.
We are very blessed to have the leadership that we do with this team. Thank you for your services in always looking at every situation through the lens of "What is best for our students?" You continue to chart a course and lead the continued provision of support for our teaching staff to meet the mission. It takes all of us rowing the boat in the same direction, but your leadership is critical in removing barriers and in helping our students achieve at the highest levels.
Thank you Principals!

Thanks to Boring, Richard, & Associates, LLC for their continued support of the Yearbook Program!

We would like to thank Midmark for their generous donation to Versailles School District. Midmark developed an idea to repurpose some sturdy black cases into Disaster Kits for the school. They proposed their idea and requested we consider what items would be most useful & desired in a lock down or other emergency situation. Mitch Eiting coordinated the project, arranging to purchase these selected items and prepare a kit for each classroom within the district.
Each kit contains:
a 42-item essential first aid kit
20 glow sticks
6 emergency blankets
24 survival food tablets
4 crank-powered flashlights
The kits will be distributed to each of the 92 classrooms in the K-12 building.
Thank you again, Midmark for partnering again with Versailles Schools and providing such a valuable resource in case of emergency situations.
Tracy Cordonnier, School Nurse & Dave Harman, Superintendent

Come join the team! Be the first smiling face to greet our wonderful students in the morning, and the last to say, "Have a great night!" in the afternoons.
Versailles Schools has two (2) bus driver openings for the 2025-2026 school year. These will be AM and PM regular bus routes, approximately 3 hours/day, and $23.66 - $31.55/hour based on years of bus driver experience.
Being a regular route driver also gives you priority to choose to take trips for games and field trips while being paid to be there as well.
If you do not have a CDL with both the passenger (P) and school bus (S) endorsements, we will provide the training. Training can begin as soon as the school year concludes.
If interested, or even if you just have some questions, please contact Kyle Kunk, Transportation Supervisor, at kyle.kunk@vtigers.org or 937-526-4773.

Thanks to the Versailles Area Historical Society for their continued support of the Yearbook Program!
