This is Superintendent Dave Harmon with an important reminder about the regularly scheduled day tomorrow. This message is just a reminder that tomorrow, Friday, 13, 2026, is a planned 2-hour delay for Staff Professional Development.
Have a great evening and a wonderful upcoming weekend.
It feels like spring is finally coming.
Go Tigers.

This is Superintendent Dave Harmon. Versailles Schools will now be closed today, Monday, March 2, 2026. This is the 6th certified staff day and the 5th student day as well as the 5th day for most classified staff. If you were not scheduled to work on Monday, January 26th, the planned staff development day that we closed on, then this is your day #5. If you were scheduled to work that day, this is your day #6. Certified staff, and any other staff who are now on day #6 will report to work by 10:00 and may use this as a work day in your respective areas. If you need additional clarification, please communicate with your department head. We are presently not on any travel level at the county level. Of course, be safe and take your time coming in. Thank you for your understanding.

This is Superintendent Dave Harmon with a reminder about Monday. Given the anticipation of the pending winter storm and its unknown impact on the district, I wanted to remind everyone that Monday was already scheduled as a Professional Development Day for staff. Students already do not have school on Monday. Have a great weekend. Students, we'll see you on Tuesday next week!

The roads are now worse and we are still getting accumulation and many of the side roads haven't been touched yet or are just starting to get treated. We will now be closing for today, Monday, November 10, 2025.

Good afternoon, we are sharing this message to our families from the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce, in conjunction with the Summer Electronic Benefits Transfer program (Summer EBT).
Hello!
The 2025 Summer Electronic Benefits Transfer (Summer EBT) program is winding down and we are aware that many eligible students have not utilized the benefits issued in June. The one-time Summer EBT benefit expires 122 days after issuance and benefits distributed in June will be expunged as early as October 10th if they are not spent.
We are asking districts to encourage your eligible families to utilize the Summer EBT benefits as quickly as possible. Please share the following link with families so that they can check their benefit expiration date. Summer EBT Funds
Families who have lost or never received their child's card, can visit Summer EBT FAQs and navigate to "How can I get a replacement card if I lost the one from last summer?" to get the steps to have a card reissued.
If families have any questions, please have them contact SEBT support at 866-244-0071, option 1, submit a support request from the portal or email support@ohiosunbucks.org.
Thank you,
Summer EBT Support

I’ll be the first one to admit - it did not work the way we had hoped. What did work is that buses got out faster than anyone can remember for the first day of school. The student parking lot was also empty at about 3:08. That was very successful; however, we learned the hard way that holding the students and crossing all together after letting the buses out did not work. Lesson learned. Please give some grace to the staff who were out there. They were only doing what they were asked to do. Tomorrow we will revert back to the previous way of managing the student traffic. We’ll cross as many students as we can as they come out, and then when it is time for the buses to go, we’ll stop traffic again to let the buses get out, after which there will be a second time for students to cross, just as it was in prior years. We were only trying to increase student safety. Thank you for your patience, your grace, and your understanding.

Welcome back to the 2025-2026 school year call
Good evening, this is Superintendent Dave Harmon with several important back-to-school messages. As such, this message will be longer than typical. First, we are using a new all-call system. Regardless of the upfront work on our end, we anticipate some minor bumps in the road as we get that all sorted out. Please pay attention to all of our notification processes so nothing is missed during this hopefully quick transition. If you aren’t getting messages, please notify the school so we can make any adjustments as quickly as possible.
With our new all call system, in order to opt in to text messaging, please send “TEC” to 64085 and then “YES” to confirm that you wish to opt in to getting text messages. Text messages from the school will come from 64085. Feel free to save that in your contacts as “Versailles Schools.”
As we always ask at the beginning of the school year, please have your children at the bus stop approximately 10 minutes earlier than normal. As routes settle in, they will quickly adjust to where there will be little additional time. In like sense, at the end of the day, please expect your children home probably 10 or so minutes later than normal for the first several days. That too will settle in as students get the hang of dismissal and boarding the buses quickly and efficiently.
If you use the parent drop-off loop, please stay in the right lane and keep moving forward if you are dropping your child off curbside. Students should exit the car from the passenger’s side only so as not to step into the other lane of traffic. If you are going into the parking lot, you are asked to cue in the left lane all the way up to the building. The left lane only turns left into the parking area.
We had another fantastic year with academic achievement last year, and are sure that this year will bring even more of that as we work to make magical educational experiences for your children. Thank you for trusting us with their care. It’s going to be another amazing year in Versailles.
Go Tigers!

Interesting in a regular, part time job with the school district?
Become a school van driver!
We anticipate two van routes, one being approximately 3 hours per day, and one being approximately 4 hours per day (total of the AM and the PM trips).
If you have any interest, please contact Transportation Supervisor, Kyle Kunk at kyle.kunk@vtigers.org or (937) 526-4773 EXT 6015. Being a van driver has a MUCH lower training requirement than a bus.
You absolutely can do this!

Feel free to reach out to any Board member. They will be happy to share with you about their experiences in this community leadership role. Their contact information is here: https://www.versailles.k12.oh.us/page/board-of-education

As of Monday afternoon, about 480 student accounts still need all forms completed in Final Forms. A large portion of those are the Transportation forms.
This is a final reminder that the transportation tab will be removed from Final Forms on Friday, 7/18/25.
Please ensure that you have the transportation form updated and submitted before that date. If that doesn't happen, we risk disruptions to transportation services to homes that have not completed the forms.
We need these forms filled out even if you and your family do not take district-provided transportation. This is critically important for us to be able to properly design bus routes to ensure there are seats available where necessary.
Thank you for your help in getting this done. Have a great afternoon.
